“I want to be a good human being. I’m doing my best, and I’m working at it.”- Maya Angelou
I started out on this movement journey in trying to manage my own chronic back pain. Moving my body in new ways, studying the body and its biomechanics and gaining strength and resilience and no longer afraid to move …. has given me the skills and ability to do all the things I love to do.
It also made me passionate about helping clients move better so that they can fully enjoy their whole life by staying active, mobile, stable, strong and pain free in their daily activities and sports. Over the last 20 years, I have had the privilege of working with clients with general fitness goals as well as those with complex movement goals. My primary inspiration is the Gray Institute’s Applied Functional Science which utilizes the Biological, Physical and Behavioral Sciences to understand how the whole human body moves as a whole, a Chain Reaction.
I am an avid hiker and walker and especially enjoy doing so here in the Columbia Valley with my partner Brad and our little buddy Joe the Portuguese Water Dog! I love to read and to learn, especially about human biomechanics and human behaviour — kind of nerdy but true!
