Team Movement

“To her, life wasn’t about fitting in or standing out, it was about being true, wholeheartedly and contentedly to the entirety of her being. And so, the only path she chose to take in life was the path that her heart and soul led her on, because deep down she knew that some rules were made to be broken and sometimes you need to fall before you can learn to to fly.”

I am a Fellow of Applied Functional Science™ and a Certified Pilates Instructor.

I am passionate about helping clients move better so that they can fully enjoy their whole life by staying active, mobile, stable, strong and pain free in their daily activities and sports. Over the last 20 years, I have had the privilege of working with clients with general fitness goals as well as those with complex movement goals. My primary inspiration is the Gray Institute’s Applied Functional Science which utilizes the Biological, Physical and Behavioral Sciences to understand how the whole human body moves as a whole, a Chain Reaction™.

I am an avid hiker and walker and especially enjoy doing so here in the Columbia Valley with my partner Brad and our fur kid Poncho! I love to read and to learn …especially about human biomechanics and human behavior…kind of nerdy but true!

The Movement Co - Invermere, BC

My passion of movement stems from a long history of self exploration in athletics, dance and recreation; curiosity and awe of the human body and the desire to understand.  My degree in Exercise Science, Fellowship in Applied Functional Science™ and certification in Pilates has aided me in understanding the biomechanical needs of functional, intelligent and purposeful movement.  My joy is in applying that knowledge towards 3D biomechanics, functional fitness, rehab and performance training.

I believe that quality of movement is quality of life. Regardless of age, injury, athleticism or goal we all deserve to live our lives as pain-free as possible, with mobility and stability, and with the physical resources to participate in daily joys – outdoor recreation, sports, gardening, walking, [insert yours here.]  I have the privilege of working with individuals and teams in helping them achieve specific movement goals, focusing on prehab and rehab, general movement skills and – what I feel to be my most important responsibility – being a conduit of information about functional fitness and movement, giving the understanding and responsibility back to the client for their physical well-being.

I enjoy moving my body outside in every season with my dog, Finn.  I love reading and learning, spending time with friends and loved ones, plants and going to bed early!
